After working with the likes of Ajith and Surya, A R Murugadoss is joining hands with Vijay for Thuppakki. The film was supposed to be produced by SA Chandrasekhar himself but he backed out of producing film and the project fell into the laps of Kalaipuli S Thanu.

Ever since the movie went to floors, it has witnessed title troubles. Initially smoking scene of the actor in posters were opposed and then came the title row. All issues were sorted out and the movie was finally completed for a release this Deepavali.

Kajal Agarwal plays Vijay’s ladylove in the film that has music by Harris Jeyaraj. Cinematograohy is by National award winning Santosh SIvan.

Besides playing the lead role, Vijay has sung a song Google Voiogle that has become a huge hit among the masses. The movie was shot extensively in Mumbai. Speaking about the movie Murugadoss said, ‘Thuppakki is a revenge drama. The film has a comedy track throughout and my intention is to get audiences to see this film at least twice or thrice – in short, I am looking for repeat audiences.

Talking about Vijay’s role in the film, he further said that the actor features in a character that would be loved by all. He is quite energetic.’

According to the filmmaker, it’s been quite long to see such an energetic and handsome hero in Tamil cinema. Vijay is playing it very differently in Thuppaki’.

Kajal Agarwal, who plays Vijay’s ladylove in the film, said, ‘He was awesome and it was great to work with him. I am looking forward to the film’s release.’
