Music companies – A hindrance to movie promotions… Few international music labels are turning out to be moneymakers in video sharing sites such as Youtube. They are exclusively hosting a film’s promotional material such as trailers and teasers for money and not sharing these with media firms, even market players.
This is quite sad, for while they promise the production houses that their video reaches a maximum level of views what these people don’t realise is the mileage the content would have received otherwise through several platforms and channels.
The revenue isn’t shared with the production banners either! In Bollywood, although there’s moneymaking out of these, there’s a clear demarcation between promotional content and paid ones.
