What the winners had to say
Sasikumar: I feel honored and proud at this moment. I never saw Thalaimuraigal as a movie, rather it was a collage of emotions. My joy would have doubled if Balu Mahendra was alive today. It is an honor for him. I dedicate this award to him and the students of his film institute.
Ram: I feel honored now. Father-daughter bonding is something unique and Thangameengal reflected it in a way that appealed to everyone. I take this opportunity to thank everyone for the immense recognition to Thangameengal. The credit should go to the whole team. I congratulate lyricist Na Muthukumar and baby Sadhana who were a part of the movie.
Na Muthukumar: I dedicate this award to my son Adhavan Nagarajan and Ram’s daughter Sri Sankara Gomathy. To get an opportunity to write a song that describes about a man’s love for his daughter is very rare. I thank Ram and my producer J Sathish Kumar for it. Yuvan Shankar’s tunes made it all the more melodious. The film appealed to all sections of audience. I am happy and thrilled with the honour’.
Sadhana: My special thanks to Ram ‘appa’ for giving this chance and JSK ‘uncle’ for making people to see it. Special congrats to Muthukumar uncle and my favorite Arbindu Sara and Yuvan uncle as well.’
Sabu Joseph: I worked hard for Vallinam. It took almost three years to come out with a finished product. The recognition today in the form of National award has given me more responsibility. I thank my director Arivazhagan and producer Ravichandran for the opportunity.
